2011 The year in numbers

Another year rolls by and so do the numbers.  Went a bit over the top this year but had some great rides, importantly with some great mates.  Might have been a bit excessive tackling the entire 521km Murray to Moyne (18.5 hrs ride) in April  but it was made achieveable with incredible team suuport, particularly Ayto, Chris, Fee, Meags and my long time bike buddy Cougs.

A great year for bunches too, 17 Lake group rides,  26 with the hospital bunch, 29 circuits with the Library lads, 47 laps with the OC's,  56 recovery loops, 94 rides with the Couldabeens and 98 tours with the P&W's (complete with a million laughs!)  62 solo toaster circuits sorted the psychiatry, 7 Vets races and a Fruitloop added variety too.  Rain prevented 14 rides, got wet on 6.

Expenditure was 10 tyres, 8 tubes, 3 chains, a bottom bracket (and headstem) bearing set and new 12, 13 & 14 tooth sprockets.  (The little chainring remains untouched)

In all    22,198 kilometres, 426km/week (that's Shepparton to Bishkek [Kyrqyzstan] and back  or round Australia clockwise via Highway 1......and around again to Mount Isa) Average speed 32.8.

Consumed 819,106 calories or 693 watts (7,000 Weetbix, 50kg sugar with 437 litres of milk - low fat of course!)

The numbers mean nothing really, it's the mates that really count. Those improving in leaps and bounds, the green apprentices, those who just keep on trying their best. Knit that with good smooth teamwork and watching out for each other, you only need to stay upright!

Now for 2012............................
